I have a 95 eclipse that i just bought and i am getting no spark and no power to the fuel pump. Guy said he was driving it one day and it just cut off on him.

I have checked my fuses, ground wires.... CEL does come on and go off so ecu is getting power.

Do i need to replace my ignition control module or would a MPI/FP relay affect spark too?

I am replacing the MPI/FP relay as well. Will the ignition control module cause the fuel pump not to get power?

On the later 2G's I believe the change in relays switched the fuel pump to only being activated by the ECU seeing pulses from either the crank sensor or cam sensor, I forget which. You can test to make sure if that's the cause by measuring the signal to the relay and seeing if it get pulled low while cranking.

Do you have the FSM for the wiring diagram?

i believe steve has the right answer, this happened to me on my '95 as well, turned out to be the crank angle sensor fell apart, while driving, just turned off like the ignition key had been turned off.

Ok, i will check the Crank Angel Position sensor and see what is going on it.

UPDATE: The injectors will not pulse unless i unplug the crank position sensor and re-plug it back in with the key turned to the assc postion.

My 95 gs is sputtering is it because the ignition control going bad or is bad??? If not do anyone know why its doing this???

Is the cel not coming on when the key is cycled a sign of bad ecu?

Only if you know that the ECU is getting power.

On the 4G63 powered cars the ECU has a circuit that is always powered that senses the ignition switch activation and then turns on the MPI relay to power up the rest of the ECU.

On the 420A powered cars it looks (from the FSM) like the ASD relay works along those same lines. You need to check that the PCM sees the ignition input, and that it activated the ASD relay and that you get battery voltage at the output of the ASD relay. The fuel pump is also controlled by the PCM.

Same thing happened to me when I first got my 96' GST. Got stranded at work, checked all fuses, checked if if was getting spark, checked the fuel pump for power. Nothing, the electric would turn on, but the car wouldn't turn over what so ever.
I'd double check your fuses and open wires man, I thought I checked all my fuses but turned out the motor fuse was shot, it looked fine. It wasn't till after i tested it that I found out that was the problem.
I had a open wire touching my engine block making my motor fuse blow.

Well I have the 420a car and it's an automatic. Under my hood there is a pcm and a tcu on the drivers side (kinda between the strut tower and air filter box)... Anyways not sure which is which but I turned key to on position and whacked them then I her some buzzing for a second.I turned key off then back on. My cel came on the fuel pump came on I hit the key and it fired up I turned it off and cranked it again and it fired up. hour and a half later it wouldn't crank again I just need to know which is the PCM and which is the tcu so I can get a new PCM and replace it...

Yes but there are two and they look almost just alike...which is tcu and which is pcm...

Steve I don't know if you seen my last post but I found where the PCM and TCU are but I don't know which is which I whacked on them with the key on and heard a buzzing noise I turn the key off turned it back on my CEL and fuel pump came on I turn the motor over and it fired up I'm pretty sure it's my PCM but I need to know which is the PCM and which is the TCU

Good evening everyone, I have to replace my 95 Eclipse´s ECU but I can´t find it with the exact part code on ebay nor scrap yards, I found some with codes different in one digit, so my question is, can other ECUs match my model? or it has to be the exact same part number?

I have ecu 622 in mine now, no change from the 5269-658
