hey guys I need some help wondering why my car high idles when it gets hot. It will start at 1500 when it reaches normal temperature but when I drive for 5 minutes longer it will idle at 2500-3500 rpm. The temperature sits in the middle and doesn’t over heat, I’m really confused....

I bought this car with this problem and the guy said “when he put the new starter in he thinks he missed the ground” I’m not sure if that’s the problem.
Anything will help please

Is the idle steady when at high or is it goes up and down?
It can be a boost leak or even the ECU, you should check boost leak first, and leave the ECU at last, very rare the ECU cauces a high idle.

From 12 DSM’s I have own, only one had a bad ECU.

Thous the idle comes down after turning it off then on?,

Thous it ever comes down when warm no matter what you do to it?

When it’s cold it’s kinda normal? It stays at 900rpm but as it gets hotter it will rise to 1200 than 1700rpm and so on. It was hot one day and it was idling at 4000rpm! It just isn’t making much sense to me why it’s doing this

Have you checked throttle cable adjustment yet? As everything heats up it can cause tension in cable and can cause high idle only when warmed up...
I got a few engine codes the other day . Here’s the list p0170,p1400,p0125,b2148,c2b00,
C0300. I will be check the throttle body cable, valve to see what’s going on and if that’s my problem in any way
