Hi guys
 I have a serious idle problem with my 95 tsi AWD. I been doing research for a week but couldn't find any resolution at all. The problem starts when the car is parked and i step on the clutch pedal the rpm goes all the away down between 200-500 rpm and when i release the clutch pedal the rpm goes back to normal (800 -1k) this is when I have a high performance clutch installed. Will this cause the problem. Also if i rev the rpm between 4-5k and press the clutch pedal the call will come to a halt and i have to restart the engine again.
Also this problem occurs when i stop at a stop light, if i don't press on the gas pedal very quick the car will die too.

Can any of you guys tell me what causing it.

can an isc go bad overnight? because my car was fine two days ago and now yesterday it dies when u push in the clutch from high rpm's and when just coasting to a stop it wants to die down to like 200rpm and then stalls.

LOL second post tonight saying this exactly.

The ISC is a stepper motor using several coils. One coil can fail at any time and can lead to a suddenly failed ISC.

Yes it can fail over night.

Don't even mention the word crankwalk. Get that word so far out of your train of thought that you won't even recognize it from now on.
Crankwalk is not something you need to worry about.
And even so, it has absolutely nothing to do with idle surge. Every single DSM on the planet at one time or another has had idle surge. ISC's go bad and become dirty and that is what causes most of your idle surge problems.

the new clutch i mentioned earlier is an ATC or ACT 2600, Another thing i want to mention is the car idle fine ( i let it runs for 30 mins), as long as i have gas for the engine to burn the car will run and idle. But if i press on the clutch the rpm starts to drop down. I checked my ISC i have 28.1 ohms from pins 1-6. When i applied 6 volts to (positive= pin s 2 and 5, negative = pins 3 and 6) the ISC i have an initial movement and after that there is no movement at all or vibration. If i disconnect and connect (fast movement) either the positive or negative i can see the movement from the ISC motor. Its that means my ISC is bad ?

What if you just unplug the ISC and then try to push the clutch in. It will through a code but it should stop the car from trying to stall when you push in the clutch, right? I think the car will then sometimes idle high and somewhat hunt for idle around 1000-1400. It could be a temporary fix till you get a new ISC and should help determine if it is indeed the ISC that failed. This I'm not positive about working all the time, but its worth a try... One detail though is if you unplug the ISC and your car is cold it may kill right away when you start it, but should fire up if you try it again and then stabilize somewhat.

I solve the problem by take away my ACT clutch and put in a stock clutch and the problem solve
