I work at a small shop just as a junior tech, and have done tons of cv's over the years, but i cant get my left side to stop leaking. I have tried three seals all greased and installed correctly, the last time i even used amery cloth to put the light crosshatch many of them have from the factory on it no luck. Its no leaking after a few days it leaks from the get go. About 2 tablespoons an hour maybe a bit more. Any ideas, is it possible the bearings in tranny are letting it wobble or something?

I have found that using orginal Mitsu parts work the best. I can't explain it. I know that it works. Are you getting any front wobble or vibrations? I just attended a workshop on seals and most manufactures suggest using new oil and letting the seal to soak a few minutes before installing. The oil helps soften the seal and allows the seal swell to help with sealing. Something I had forgotten about.

I worked for a short period at a dsm performance shop and did tons of clutch jobs, its a little odd to see a leak like this (if you are talking about the driverside shaft and i think you are). unless this car has tons of miles on it , as you are aware this shaft has a stablizer mount and is mounted to the side of block you can look for signs of excessive where by grasping the shaft and wiggleing the shaft close to the half shaft mount to see if it has excessice play (also the bolts holding the mount to the block must be the corect bolts and shank width), if so this would couse a miss alignment with the diff. and the seal. another thing to be careful of when incerting the spline shaft into the diff, go in straight as possable and slowly and when its in all the way pull it out just a little do this a couple of times to make sure that the seal face isnt folded over. And also when you install the seal put a thin layer of rtv sealent on the the seat. if it keeps leaking there might be a crack in the case

one thing i just remebered, when these tranys where cast there was a slight flaw, and this might sound kinda odd but its one that comes out with age, it occurs when the car get warm and then cold over and over and over agian from everyday driveing. it simply warps a little bit over time, but its not very noticeable to the eye and never gets extreame, but it couses the seal to be ever so slightly oval shaped and creates a weak point in the seal, that could be the issue

That is something common that I have seen as far as "leaks", and where they've come from. I've replaced the seals with OEM units, and have seen them fixed. I've been lucky enough not to have run into any that have basically lost form over age.
