Calipers and knuckles clearanced after a lot of grinding and test fitting. There was definitely more clearancing needed than noted in the brembo conversion thread here. The backside of the knuckle where the bracket bolts to needs all of the shoulder removed to fit the brackets along with 2 spots on the mounting ears to center the spacers. Pretty easy to see what needs done once you get started on grinding though.

Powder coated all of the front suspension components in a black metallic and will be painting the control arms to match. Since they aren't serviceable, powder coating won't be an option for them. Hopefully this week we will get those parts painted along with the bay.

Damn... I should've done this with my transmission bolts. Let me ask this though, in what condition did you drop them off & how much did it run you? I like to replace with stainless wherever possible but there's those high grade and obscure bolts you have to reuse / replace with OEM. Looks good.

And is that an Audi S4 back seat I spy in the above post? (carrying wheels)

I sent them in glass bead blasted. It was $69.50 for an unlimited amount of hardware. http://www.electroplate-rite.com/index.html I've used a company in Sacramento as well that will do the blasting for you https://plus.google.com/108889068131286630951/about?gl=us&hl=en That was $150/batch.

Good eye, yes that's my B5 S4 that I daily drive with 160k+ on it

Been a while since we got to do anything with the car, moved into a new shop which took up a lot of time. Finally making some headway on it again though!

Motor getting finished up, oil pumped through the motor and everything seems ready to rock

Factory service manual is a very handy guide for all the torque specs, bolt sizes, etc. You can pick them up on ebay for $30-40

I got the FSM online, i think there is a link through tuners somewhere but the part numbers for the bolts, nuts, washers, etc. dont match the numbers for the brand new parts I got from JNZ tuning. Just trying to but together all new parts like one big puzzle :banghead:

Any suggestions? Pm me if needed, dont want to steal your spotlight :thumb:

You're probably looking at the CAPS program. You need to match the number on there to the items on the right and click on them. In there it shows you the part numbers.

As far as alignment, what did you do? I thought was what fmars meant originally & it got me interested? Count number of turns for tie rods etc? I destroyed a set of (fairly expensive) front tires because of my lack of detail / ignorance in alignment . So what did you do?

I'm not touching the alignment, I have adjustable rear toe arms and ingalls camber kit. It's going straight to an alignment shop for it's first trip out of here.
