So here's a new one on me. The 1994 4G63 uses a different EGR, which has an electrical connector.
I have a 94 GS, which is going to get a 4G63T put in it. The electrical connector looks like the one for the knock sensor. Can I just swap pins at the ecu, and use the EGR wires to run the knock sensor?
It shouldn't cause a CEL, since I'll be using a 91-93 GSX ECU. But, are the plugs the same? What's the deal w/ the 94 EGR valve, anyway? I've heard "all 94&up cars were CA emissions", etc... And, I bought the car on the west coast, but I know it isn't a CA car; it has a thermo valve, and no egr solenoid.
What does it mean when you get a CEL for the EGR valve? I found a code 43 in the ECU. I laughed, since my car didn't have an EGR solenoid. Then I found the electrical wires coming out of the EGR valve
