I'm preparing to rebuild my awd tranny and have noticed the different options available for the two. Any one with info on the differences and why it might be good to convert to the news make for my '89.

If I decide to do the swap, and rebuild a 93+ instead of the stock tranny I've got now; I'll need to purchase this transmission and have not found a source.

Any one with a 93+ rebuild able tranny for sell? Whats a good price?

The 90 Trans is limited in what you can upgrade internally. You can upgrade 1st and the synchros, but any 3rd or 4th gear upgrades would require a new center differential lower housing and intermediate shaft from 91+. If you wanted to upgrade 5th, you would need new: rail, fork, hub, slider, synchro rings, and case end cover.

If you were to upgrade the transmission to a 91+ you would need new; 23 spline transfercase, shift cables, shift cable to tranny bracket, and shifter base,.

I am sure there is more to add.
