Ok before some tells me to search, I spent some time digging for information.

Here's the situation:
I'm considering the purchase of a 95 gsx w/auto. After driving the car, I realize the Engine is probably shot. What I want to know is:

1) Is the JDM engine a straight drop in (I know the jdm swap is pretty common, but not sure how it fits with the gsx and tranny swap)?

2) Can I convert the auto to manual?

3) Can you guys recommend good parts dealers?

Thanks.

Under the Roadrace engineering header are 5 blocks.

Click on the middle 3 for all the answers to your question of the engine swap.

Thanks for the info, but I dont think it's what i'm looking for. Im not interested in putting a 1g engine in a 2g gsx. Im looking to install JDM 2G engine and manual tranny in 95 gsx w/auto tranny.

The reason behind the 1g motor in a 2g is to rid most of the possibility of crankwalk as well. Usually when the average DSMer does a motor swap for any reason in a 2g, that might as well find a 1G to put in so they dont have to worry about the crankwalk issue. The 1G and 2G enbines are basically the same, practically, if not identical in structure, design and power, just very minor and slight differences. The only differences are some connections and plugs on the harness wont be used and a 1G usually has the 14B instead of a T25. Do the 1G swap, its also a stronger motor.

The smaller intake, smaller head, larger pistons, crank, flywheel, oil pan, motor mounts, and CAS are a sampling of the things that are different between a 1G and 2G engine.
