1G and 2G tranny swap?

Why would you want to? And I am sure they can't do to where there mounts are located.

Yeah you can swap it, but I think its only awd. Also you have to bend one of the gear shifters on the tranny its self. Theres a vfaq on it I believe. You need the x-case too. Look on vfaq I think its there.

I blew my tranny and I was told that the 2G trannys were tougher than the 1G trannys, is that true or it it just a rumor?

I believe the whole drivetrain in total is better then 1g's. If you look around though even 2g guys have tranny problems. I would like to say that we have crappy trannys, although they are in some cases 14yrs old, have had the piss beat out of them, never taken care of (previous owners) and then we try to push out 100-200+more hp then they were intended for. "Well supras and rx-7's never have tranny problems like we do." Well our cars wern't $40,000+ cars. At least we don't blow up the actual gears like scooby's. My buddy with a 91 honda hatch, he has a built motor running 11.5:1 compression, he cranks out 201whp and is on his 3rd or 4th tranny from either blowin up the diff or just blowing it to hell. So with that said, if you really want some peice of mind on the tranny side, call Shep or TRE. Or keep a few spares in the garage.

Happy boosting, Pianoman.
