Picked up a Kaaz LSD DBM2080(info) that is made for the 93-99 FWD trannys with the larger diameter input shafts. I was wonder if I could install the LSD in a 90 trans and just run the larger CV shafts made for the differential.

Answering my own question here. I did get the Kaaz LSD installed in my 90 transmission. Just have to use 93-94 cv shafts. On a side note, Kaaz lsd chatter around slow corners ftl. :( New thread to come..

The chatter could be from bearing preloads. The bearings are different AWD vs. FWD and if you use the wrong ones the diff will wander all over the place in the case and pop during acceleration or decel conditions. The body of the diff might be a little different too also affecting preloads. I had to install 2 1MM shims on the bottom and 2 more on the top to get the correct preloads that last time I used an AWD diff in a FWD...I think. Might have been FWD in AWD...

This is all FWD to FWD. Just used a 92+ diff in a 90 trans.

We did measure for the correct spacer shim and put that in.
