What's going in everyone. I just recently picked up my newest dsm. 92 Tsi talon awd turbo 6 bolt. Bone stock with 60k Original miles! I'm doing the t belt water pump and all the idlers and tensioners balance shaft belt ect. My question is where do I start my mods and where to get them. I plan on keeping the stock 14b for now and eventually going up from there.
So far I'm thinking intake and k&n cone. Question is what one should I get and will I need to replace ic piping now or later.
Next is gauges boost, afr (for the future with bigger mods) oil pressure any suggestions on that. And then I really don't know exactly where to go from there.
I would really appreciate the help thank you!!

I didn't really read everyone else's posts, but to the OP, I would start out with just cutting your stock aircan and getting a replacement k&n filter if you plan on keeping your stock maf for a while. As far as a wideband goes, the innovate lc-1 seems to be a popular choice and is very user friendly with a dsmlink, which you will need to get if you plan on going much past intake and exhaust. Hard intercooler piping is a nice upgrade, and I would strongly consider upgrading the core. The stock smic is tiny and heatsoaks very very easily. Once you start getting into increasing the boost and possibly a turbo upgrade, you will need ATLEAST a walbro 190lph, but I'd save myself the trouble and go straight to a 255lph.

If you're looking for a good streetable turbo upgrade, any of the 16gs (I'm going with an hta86), or a bastard 20g would be ideal. In fact, I have a small 16g in good shape that I'd be willing to sell you. Idk what your hp goals are, but it would make for a very fun ~280whp street car with the right supporting mods and a good tune. I live quite close if you're interested:) It's not going anywhere as of right now.

I know it's been said, but MAINTENANCE. I'll say it again. MAINTENANCE.

I know the car only has 60k miles on it, but it's still 20+ years old. If you haven't done it already, give each system a thorough inspection. Change all the fluids and wear parts, if anything is out of spec replace or rebuild it. You want a healthy car to build power with, or it will cause you problems you don't want.

Everyone else has given good advice, so I'll leave it at that.

Maint is the first point always!! T belt water pump all those parts are done still figuring out what trany x case and diff fluid to run then that's getting changed along with coolant flush and new coolant hoses

Did plugs and wires aswell

Decide on a fuel pump for future modification, full exhaust, intake (choose maf or ecu based on future modification, remove BCS add boost controller, then when maxed out choose injectors for future modification.

It sounds like you found a real gem congrats to you. Like you mentioned earlier double check all of the usual engine components that fail. I bought a 92 not nearly as clean as what you picked up but things like replacing rubber water and air hoses, helped me out LOADS. Especially when I started to really get in and work on it. I followed the tech guide on this site under upgrade paths stage 0. They break down easy cheap ways to slightly modify your vehicle but also check on things that commonly fail remember it is 20 years old. Mine had already been switched to full synthetic a little more costly for oil changes worth it in my opinion.

Couple things that started to go on mine was the power steering pump. A leak in the O-Rings on the top of the pump caused at first a minor leak which in turn ruined a alternator. I wouldn't worry about it if it not leaking but keep an eye on it. Also the oil pressure sending unit is a joke. I would look into installing an aftermarket unit that has a more stable electrical connection. Also be careful with if you have to unhook the harness connections the plastic connectors were severely dry rotted. A lot of the things mentioned in the stage 0 upgrade path were happening with my vehicle.

Not sure what your looking to do to the vehicle but a good way to redistribute weight is battery relocation. Doesn't require to much work and there is a lot of good videos on this site. Mine came with an ABS breaks which takes up a lot of room in the engine bay and can make adding a good front mount intercooler tricky later on. The parts are easy to find and it was worth it for me.

When your ready to start adding more horse power make the engine breath better. Intake and exhaust components first the faster the air comes in and goes out the faster the engine can go!
