Hi all! I'm new around here, and after searching your forums for a bit, I've got a few questions that will probably cause a laugh or two, maybe even a facepalm or three. Ive never owned a DSM, but have been a tuner for years. Bear with me for a moment, and I'll give you some background. I'm not some punk kid, I'm a 33 year old not so punkish kid :D. Some of the fellas I work with are old school and think that V8's are the only way to "fast". I've got a co-worker with an '07 C6 corvette that is particularly annoying. So, I've set out to find and build a four cylinder car to embarass him with.:thumb:

I've settled on a 92 Talon TSI AWD that I'm picking up tomorrow. the car is currently not running, it needs valves to complete the rebuild that the guy started and ran out of money to finish. Here are the specs of what it has:

1) Block is bored over .20 with everything new and replaced
2) Head is brand new with all brand new internals with stock cams
3) 3in thermal catback exhaust
4) 3in front mount intercooler
5) Forced performance GREEN turbo
6) X boost controller
7) Apexi SAFC (older style with dials)
8) ngk spark plugs and new wires

Question #1: It's running stock fuel system, shouldn't this bee a good place to start on upgrades for this turbo?

Question #2: Any other essential upgrades this car could use to turn it into a solid low 12 sec. car?

It's not gonna be a daily driver, just a toy. Thanks in advance for your help, and I'm sure you all will be seeing a lot more of me in the future!

I would definitely start with the Fuel system. Bigger injectors, Bigger pump, bigger lines. Next i would get rid of that SAFC and go with something like ECMlink. Gauges would be a good thing to do as well. Oil Pressure, Boost, Wideband are the three that I think are the most valuable. Low 12's is not hard at all to achieve with these cars.

Thanks for the response. I'm sure I'll be bending your ear a bit more as this car progresses! :)

My car should be low 12's-high 11's with basically a stock block, 264 cams, 2.5in exhaust, FMIC, DSMlink and a 50 trim.
