Resolved 92 eclipse gsx alternator/ serpentine belt configuration

What's going on fellas. I'm new here, I used to be on this forum I believe back in 01-04. I've had 2 1g dsms. Always wanted another one, and found a 92 gsx for 1k. Got it for my son. Just needed a alternator (famous last words) and a battery. I've searched everywhere online. I'm asking if anyone would share a pic of alternator set up (I feel I'm missing parts) and the belt configuration. Would help me a ton and get this car going. Thank you all. Cheers!

The alternator belt is the inner one and the outer ones got to the AC compressor from the crank and the PS pump from the water pump.

Man I appreciate that a ton! I am missing the tensioner on the alternator. The one I have on the car sits on top of the alternator, different from the one in the pic above. But I appreciate the response. Now I have to look for that tensioner for the alternator. Any ideas? Cheers!

The one in these manual pages and the cut-away engine IS on the top of the alternator so you lost me. The lower bolt runs through the bracket to the engine block and the upper bolt runs through the threaded block and the tensioner arm attached to the water pump bolt and into the alternator.

To tension you loosen the lower and upper bolts and turn the long threaded bolt and tighten the upper and lower bolts when the belt is tight.

The bracket that was on the car, comes down off the block and "wraps" around. Where I'm lost. Do I need the adjustment bracket? Where can I find one? Been about 20yrs since I had my last DSM and I'm already about to set it on fire. Lol thank you.

That’s the tensioning bracket for an automatic 1G. Why they were different, I’ve never figured. Same general concept to tension, though.

Wow. 35 years of this and ive never seen that. Cant think of a reason why they did it.

Damn I didn't even thunk about that. Yeah it's a automatic gsx. My 93 was a automatic and I don't think it had this one. Had the one with the screw to loosen/ tighten the belt tension. Well I'm going to try and find the tensioning bracket that attaches to it and get the belts on. You guys are awesome, and I appreciate all the responses. Love these cars, and can't wait to get it on the road. It's going to my 16 yr old.

Well got the belts on, had to order the new pug tail connector for the alternator, she starts and sounds healthy..but without the alternator tensioner bracket can't drive it. Fml anyone have hits where I can find one? Cheers...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06nrgMEmq-s

Whats going on fellas. After searching the internet finally found the part I needed; tensioner installed and alternatortightened. Got the pigtail connector plugged in, battery installed, and the car fired up. The exhaust manifold is a FPS and beat up. Nice exhaust leak from the manifold, but the car runs pretty damn good. Not a fan of the shift box plus 2 on it, holding that thing and shifting gears, but once she spools up it pulls great. Appreciate the help on here. I'm getting another manifold soon, better exhaust, and start working on the small things to get it daily. Cheers fellas!
