Hi everyone,
I have a 1990 tsi AWD. A long time ago my brother (WombatTsi was his forum name) built a badass 2.3 4g63 for his 1992 tsi awd.

Well, he ended up parting out the car, but the good news is that I have a ton of random DSM parts laying around that I can use :hellyeah:

One of the things I found was a perfectly clean looking green-top CAS, with the plug on the sensor itself.

My CAS is working fine, but it would be nice to know what I need to do in the future if mine fails on me (plus I would just like to swap the '90 parts out for more common 91+ parts).

So my question is: how can I wire up a 92 CAS to work in my 90? I searched and couldn't really find much. I only found people wanting to put a 90 cas in later model cars, but then they decided to just get the better 91+ CAS and thus the question was never answered.

what i would do and thats what my brother did was to splice the wires and solder the wires according to color as the connectors are different. however its either that or swap out the 90 harness for a 91's or later.

what i would do would be to splice the wires and solder them together with the connectors, (thats what my brother did and it worked) or you could swap out the 90 harness for the more common 91 or later harness.

If yours is working with no issues, I'd leave it alone. I don't think a CAS going shot is a very common issue, as these are not GM cars that all the sensors fail once a year. If you have your heart set on changing it, just find a wiring diagram and go at it. If you're worried about not finding a CAS if you need one, your 90 one is not rare at all, as Hyundai Elantra's use the same one (through 95 I think).
