90 tsi awd tranny in 92 tsi awd

can i put a 90 tsi awd tranny in a 92 tsi awd? how do i kno how many splines?
the 90 tranny is 22 spline

Count the splines on the transfer case input and the transfer case output shaft. You need the transfer case from the 90 for it to work. 92 is 23 splines.

Edit: I meant tranny output shaft going to the transfer case.

the 91+ shifter cables are longer than the 90 cables so i think you can get away with it. the shifter arm on the transmissions are different as well. the 91+ having a smaller length arm. If you were putting a 91+ tranny in a 90 that is where you would have run into problems. I converted to all 91+ transmission and cables on my 90. My friend has a 91 talon and had a 90 transmission in there with no problems. let us know how it turns out.
