Alright, I have a 1992 4G63 2.0 N/A. I bought a rebuilt head for a nice price, and I just installed it. Today I went to install the Camshaft Sensor, and the hole which it goes into just has a black seal inside of it. It's blocked, and I noticed there is a Cam Angle Sensor in the front by the camshaft. Can I pop the seal out & mount my Camshaft Sensor? The guy told me the head was from a '92 2.0 4G63 N/A. But the intake manifold says ECI Multi 2000, which is different than my intake. It looks different, and has the Brake booster port further toward the passenger side, whereas mine is on the driver's side.

Any help will be appreciated :] I need to mount my Camshaft Sensor!

There seems to be a metal plate behind it... Do I have to remove the rear journal cap on the cam in order to remove this? Could screwing a screw into it, and removing with the screw head be applicable? Thanks.

Oh, wow. I tried to find a casting number but couldn't. I had to swap the water neck. Good thing I had all old things off of my old head & intake... I'll just try and pop the cap out tomorrow. Thanks :]

yeah the HG and everything are the same just the water neck/thermostat housing, water pipe and such are different. you will be fine. you may have noticed that the 2g heads have SMALLER ports then the 1g heads though.

Unfortunately, yes, I did some reading. 1G intake / exhaust ports are much more impressive, as well as the throttle body. Looks like I was lied to, but I got the resurfaced head, new cams / lifters / valves, and intake as a unit for $150. Same part number for the head gasket from '90 to '99. The guy had bad piston rings and bought a new head thinking it was the head gasket causing bad compression numbers. Oh well. I just hope I don't have to remove the intake camshaft in order to pop out that plug. This is my first DSM and I've enjoyed the ease of working on it, I'll surely pickup a junk Turbo motor for a rebuild :]

Thanks!
