Sarnia,
Hello everyone.
I just bought a used 91 talon good deal cause it wont start..
I just put in a new batt and still no go. so I checked for fuel.. Ok hee is where the fun starts... Top of the tank is toast.. You can take out the pump without undoing any screws.... so The pump works as I tested it on the ground... will not work in the car..

so I hot wired the pump to a sep batt and it works in the car.. fuel is on.. so it still wont start

so I check the spark... NO spark.. I am looking for a gas tank to fix the first problem,,,
Anyone have a idea ?? maybe the ecu? will a 91 talon NON turbo ecu work for a test???

I have 2 non turbos fwd

I had this issue a while back. The fuel pump wiring is probably bad. What I did is I reran the hot wire to the fuel pump, and traced a ground from the pump through the car and to the battery. Viola! Instant fuel! Seemed to flow better too.

As far as spark, check your connections in the engine bay. Do not bank on your ECU being toast right off. Go cheap before going expensive. Take the ECU out and sniff it. Does it smell like dead fish? Take it apart and check for leaking/bulging caps. Those can be replaced or a new ECU can then be bought if there are any bad ones.

Post back what you find.

Ok thanks for the help,
I looked at the computer and there are a couple of spots that look bad. maybe even burnt, I hooked up the fuel pump direct for gas and its ok.. STILL needs to be replaced but ok for a test maybe....

I have 2 other ecu's from non turbo's so I hooked one up for a second and that gave the car spark. so I guess it is safe to say the ECU is toast.

Is there anyone in the Sarnia area that has time to help. I have no problem paying in CASH
I can even put ya up for the night if your from out of town
