91 Laser Problem

So i just bought this 91 Laser RS turbo for 400 bucks from a friend. It's an AT and it has 132,000 miles on it. It runs really ruff, but only if you mash on the gas a little bit. I can get it to run fine if i am very light on the gas.

Could this be spark plugs or spark plugs wires? What kind of spark plugs do you recommend and what gap should i set them at?

Also, the car idles pretty bad when it is cold, but once it gets up to operating temp it is fine. However, if i rev the engine past 3000 RPM, then once it settles down, the RPM's drop so far down, the car stalls. Please help me with any ideas on how to fix that. Thanks

Check over all vacuum lines, and make sure all bolts or couplings are secure. Boost leak test. New plugs, wires. Check to make sure timing is right. Is the CEL on? Change all fluids, and belts. (Not that these would cause the problem) Just what I recommend along with the other things. I'm guessing its stock since you only paid $400. Basically give it a good tune-up. (If you do a search you will find several list of things to check over. If you are still unsure) You may get other replies, but the BPR7ES plugs wouldn't hurt. Gapped for 28-30. Also, how old is the gas in the car?

I have new plug wires on the way and i should be getting the plugs soon. How do i check the timing and how do i do a boost leak test? The CEL is not on and there is a fart can, K&N filter, and Greddy Type S BOV on it. Other than that it is pretty much stock.
