I dont know much about turbo. I have been driving a 97 non-turbo for the last 3 years and still hav it wont get rid of it LOL. I just brought a 91 GSX, with some minor things to fix.

1- Boost Guage dont even move at all
2- E-Brake is not working at all
3- Can I up grade the BOV without having to modify anything or get anything else??? if so what would be a good BOV for it and where can I find one at???

so far 1 & 2 are my main concern. OH YEAH!!! almost forgot, when I get on it from 1 gear to 2 & 3 the tach goes to around 3800 rpms and it wont go past that sometimes. What is the cause of this and is it normal??? Thank You!

1. Get a new boost gauge.
2. Pull your center console and see what is happening to the cables as you pull the lever, some readjust ment may be necessary.
3. You don't need to do this, the 1G BOV is an awesome BOV

Good luck,
Brendon

edit: to your last question :is your car a 5spd? if so it might be the clutch. Ive seen it do crazier things

1. The stock boost gauge is crap get an aftermarket one and go from there.

2. Everything for you e-brake is under your center consoul so take it off and make sure everything is hooked up.

3. Yes you can upgrade from your stock BOV to an aftermarket one but there really isn't much point since the 1G one can hold around 20 psi.

Does the car seem to be reving higher than 3800 RPM and the tach just doesn't go up?

Whats happening is as follow.

Red light to green and I take off... Well, instead of the tach going to 7000rpm like it reads when you look at it it climbs to around the rpms given earlier and the car feels like is asking for more but I shift to 2 and the car keeps pulling and same with 3 and 4 and 5 is it that I may have something wrong going on or is it normal. This is my first turbo car and am loving it even with its problem.

I just got back from a test drive but before I did I took the hose that goes from the BOV to Intake on the BOV side off and it sounds COOL!!! :)

Thank You guys for your replies and Help!

-George

OK.

If the engine can physically rev to 7000 while sitting still, theoretically it will when under load.

Put the hose back on the BOV, its not a toy., who cares what new cool noise it makes, its not good.

Check the BCS and see if its still even plugged in. Your gauge might work then.

Order a Auto-meter or similar +30/-30 gauge 2 1/16", order a autometer gauge pod and do the install as per the www.vfaq.com

Adjust your Emergency Brake so that it will hold the car on a 30* incline HALF of its travel.

Go out and drive it and give it WOT in 2nd gear from 2000- till 6500 IF IT WILL.

Shift it Bone stock around 6700-6900 for performance, 3-4000 for economy.

Whats up.
