Hello, all and thanks for letting me join your forum. Please forgive my noobness.

I have a 91 Colt Vista Awd 5 speed manual tran. It's missing the engine, and has been sitting around my farm for the last 10 years. Well... I need a project to work on and started to do a little research on the Internet to see if there was anything I could to make this car a little more fun.

From the research I have been doing for the last few days it sounds like my Colt has a 4G63 (up till the a day ago i had never even heard that term) I would like to put a 4G63T in my colt. A few questions if a may.

1. Will this be an easy swap?

2.Will the 4G63T bolt right up the the trany and engine mounts?

3. Will I need to do something different about the clutch?

4. Anything I will need to do about wiring?

5. What kind of car would you take the 4G63T out of, or look up in my local area to get.

6. How do I know how many bolt engine I had in the car? I still have the old engine sitting around.

Thanks for your time and any advice you have for me would be cool.

You can use the 96 gsx engine but it will require a little more work, I recommend if you do the swap that you stay with the 90-94 engine. Also, like many before have said, go to 4g61t.org. That web site has alot more first hand information on that chassis than this site does

Thanks for all the help. I'm in search for a good parts car now. I will keep you all updated, and im sure I might have a few more questions.

oh yeah another thing I should mention, you might need to swap in a smaller high performance radiator, so the turbo does not crash into it.

I recall seeing one made by koyo that might fit into the vista frame. most of the Honda guys use them on their turbocharged civic crx's

Oh yeah don't forget to take a few digital pictures of the swap.

Finding this parts car is proving to a little harder then I thought. I did find a 90 gsx with a busted timing belt for $850.00. the guys said he was pulling away from a stop when it broke. I found a head for it for $265.00 worth. Think I should pull the triger?

Hey guys this is sorta related to this topic. I have a 1991 colt vista awd also, only I need a tranny. The one that grenaded is a km182. I searched but couldnt find any info, is there anything else like maybe a w5m33 that would bolt in easy? Any info would be great.
