i have this same issue....

this is the only plug thats different..
i would like to know what the other wires go to/do?

im swapping a 90 engine & harness into a 91 chassis.

help would be appreciated.

i still haven't figured out that the extra wires control/go to

i just transfered all but those four onto my 90 harness....

i guess if i have a problem thats the cause.

I did this swap a while back... i had a 90 engine harness and i swapped it for a good 91-94 one.. i had to splice wires inside the car. Basically, you just splice the wires that have the same colors on both harnesses and put it together. There would be some unused wires. No cel here, and its been like this for years. If you guys need any more help, let me know.

Problem is that he's an Auto and trying to hook up an unknown(to us) TCU to an Unknown(to us) Auto Trans.

If he elaborates on what he's tiring to accomplish it would help alot...
But Being auto and the difference of of wiring to the Tcu and differant TCU's between different years its going to complicate it much more...

Tell he gives more info on what parts he's using from the different cars nobody is going to truly answers his questions...

i had to switch shells so its a,

91 chassis harness to a 90 engine harness.

both manual trans harness, both AWD.

all connectors are the same on the engine harness except where the chassis harness and engine harness connect together at the ECU.

Would this affect the interior lighting of the car I have encountered this same problem. I hope someone can help....

I have my 91+ harness hooked up exactly like Stainbox12 with zero issues, no lighting, no running, etc. As have several others. I am not familiar with the auto differences, but being those 4 wires were also extra in the 5 spd. I'm assuming they have nothing to do with the transmission. I would hook it up and give it a try. Make sure you get proper connections. There is also a different plug in the passenger side footwell, you can actually trim the connection to make it plug in and work, all wires should match up. I've been running my car for over two years like this.

I made a pin out for each connector .92 auto vs. 93manual. I'll have to copy it tomorrow. the auto has more wires for the cluster power/eco light, eco switch, and a/t temp light. Auto doesn't have the clutch switch wire.

The plug is a engine harness to body harness interface, and provides things like diag port, cel, turbo gauge.
