Hey guys I just bought a new tranny for my dsm. Anyways it came out of a 92 car but its acutally a 90 transmission. Anyways the guy kept the transfer case since I did not need it. Well now I am in a bind and the guy said I could swap the output spline for the transfer case. Anybody have a write up for this. Would like to know so I can either make the 90 tranny work or take it back.

Yes, the Output shaft on the Transmission can be swapped, it is a fairly simple process… I used the link below to figure it out:

Tranny Rebuild

Basically use the first 3 steps of this procedure then just slide the output shaft carefully out the front. Insert the new shaft and reverse the steps. It is not as hard as it might look at first so don't worry... just don't loose the little ball(s) when you pull off the Viscous coupler!

Good luck!
