i might be gettin a 90 awd tranny to put in my 92.... what are the issues with the shifter cables/brackets????]

thanks

cant i just use my tranfercase? and theres noway to use the stuff on my car already?

your shifter cables in your 92 are longer than the ones in a 90.also are you also getting the 90 transfer case?because your 92 transfer case wont work with the 90 tranny,do to the spline count.

90' tranny and TC = 22 spline
91'+ tranny and TC = 23 spline

Yes there are

1. Remove the main shifter tranny bracket that is attached to the shaft and replace it with a 91'+ bracket, the hardest part is to remove the roll pin holding the bracket to the shaft, almost impossible on an older tranny.

2. This is easier but a bit of hack, drill a hole at about 5 cm from the shaft on the 90' bracket and bolt your cable there.

You can swap in a 23-spline output shaft into your new tranny to work with your existing xfer case. You just take the end cover off, pop the c-clip off the viscous coupler, remove and remove the one ball bearing and push the shaft out and replace with your 23-spline shaft.
