90 tranny install on a 92 talon

i put in the 90 trans in a 92 talon and i dont have first gear. and wen i try to put in what i think is 1gear. it takes off like if its in a way higher gear and bogs down. i thinck it has something to do with the shift levers or smething like that. thanks for your help
 
did you pay attention to the shift levers on the transmission? unless im mistaken, im pretty sure the shift lever setup on the two trannies are different from each other. that could explain why you try to shift into what you think is first, and its really like third, etc.
Or another scenario is that you may have mixed the cables up on the levers. first indentify if the lever setups are the same or not, which i don't think they are. If they are somehow, then try switching the cables.
