90 talon.

I have a few questions about the difference between 90 and 91 dsm, i might be abe to pick up a 90 awd tsi for a good deal and was wondering what will i need to change to make it a 91. I heard the 91 and up dsm are better why is that?
any help would be awesome.

Never heard of a 91 being better just ecu wires need to be changed with the 90 ecu. Cant think of any differences between those two cars.

throttle bodies, shifter base, shifter cables, shift bracket on tranny, oil pump gears, output shaft spline count, thats all I can think of that differ from 90 and the 91 ups

There are differences with the transmission itself if I remember right. I know English Racing had to use parts from a 93 to rebuild mine since 90 parts aren't made at all.

But yeah, pretty similar or stuff that can be easily swapped.

Also the cam angle sensor is different and the ignition coils and ignitor are also different.

The wiring harness is different both under the hood and under dash so if you want to swap it all the way to a 91 you will need both harnesses and a 91-94 throttle body and a cas (cam angle sensor) ecu coil pack and the power ignitor the rest you just plug and play
