Hey fellow DSMTuners,
I come to you today, humbly searching for help. A few months ago my car had a hissy fit and keeled over on the side of the road. A couple days later I figured out it had electrical short, and so far it's eaten 2 alternators. (The first time I though my alt. just died.)
Using the process of elimination and a meter, I found that when I plug in my battery fuse it reveals that there is a short somewhere. When I unplug it, the short is gone. My girl's dad says it's in the harness, so I've been pulling out parts of the harness, but haven't found any frayed, cut or melted wires. I'm about ready to beat the crap out of my POS but really need to get it going relatively soon, and was hoping someone here could give me a heads up on where else to look or do.
Should I check the "sub fuses" from things that attatched to that fuse now? such as the dome light, door locks, etc? Because it feels like I've been searching in the wrong places.
This is the battery fuse that causes me so much greif.
