9 sec 2.3L Daily Driver.

The title explains everthing. I'm just wanting some opinions on if anyone thinks this is safe, or even possible for that matter. I'm determined to get into the 9's, and really want to build a 2.3L. But I'm trying to build a bullet proof bottum end, and I know that's not always possible. We all know parts will break, but trying something new never hurt anyone. Anyone with experience, question, suggestions, or knowledge, please offer some text. Dan

I'm sure that some searching of what people are running would result in alot more useful information then you will get from this thread. However, here is some of my input below.

Hope I don't come across as an a$$ but I'd rather help someone fall off a cliff rather than someone post a thread on "I wanna run 9's". Again, this isn't an attack on you or your goals, more power to you if/and when you do reach that sort of time.

On a side note, the 2.0 I believe is alot more common when talking those times. But, as you mentioned it never hurts to try (in which I'm sure it wouldn't be the first 9 sec stroker). I think the stroker is more for the grunt (street torque) so I guess the first thing to find out would be to ask what else you want out of the car besides a 9 sec time-slip. Daily driver, Weekend car, Track car etc, etc, etc...

its possible to build anything if you have the cash to do it. you could always build a bullet 4g63 motor. and set it up to spray it on the track and just boost it on the street. therefore the power is there when you want it but not necessarily putting so much stress on the motor all the time... remember if you build a motor to run 9-10 secs... its gonna wanna run that all the time.. you might be doing more harm if you take it on a 400 mile trip to somewhere.
