Edmonton,
is this true? it is the same engine?

I read the 87-92 sonata's carry 4g63 2.0l

if so, the parts would be exactly the same and you could pop in sonata parts into your DSM?

search yahoo, i would for yeah but im to lazy, which is hipocritical because i am spending the same amount of time typing this reply:thumb:

what I read from my yahoo search is Yes. same engine, but to what extent I am unaware. I just heard that some parts are cheaper for hyundai them mitsu and I need an expenmsive part

Idle speed controller....380 from mitsubishi...530 from Chrysler...(cdn dollars) from what I hear Hyundai ISC for the sonata is the same and costs close to half...I have to call tomorrow and verify

Sonata motor is a 4g64 not 4G63 which = stroker, but any ways i believe you could get the part of that motor or just replace TB

I will do that, thanks
the only drawbacks to a rebuilt one is I dont know how long it will last =\

so far from what I read it is the 4g63...but yeah, all I am worried about is that part...and getting it cheap as possible

^^that requires me to get a broken ISC. unfortunately there are never any dsms in the junk yards here

I do have one...and it is broken...its the one on my car. sorry, what meant was I would need a spare one to swap parts with.

concelli mitsubishi?

what's this?

hyundai wants 317(cdn) for it...cheaper then mitsu but still too much.

I will give concelli a look and see if they wills hiopt o canada.

thanks!

a sonata doesnt have a 4g64. its a 2.4L "4GCS" its a 6-bolt 2.4L block with a SOHC head. I know this because I own one and many DSMers are using them for the extra displacement...
