7bolt in a first gen?

hey guys my buddy has a 91 tsi awd with an auto trans and hes running into problems because its a 7bolt instead of a 6bolt. if anybody has any info it would be much appreciated. thx

Only way it's a 7 bolt is if it's been swapped. I would have to say it's not the original engine.

All 91's should be a 6-bolt motor. Sounds like someone may have swapped in a 7-bolt (don't know why they would do that.)

Those people who are unlucky enough to own a DSM built around April/May of 92 often have no idea what parts to order for their cars, as DSMs changed from 6bolt to 7bolt flywheels at that time, along with many other changes. . Rod bearing bolts for a 2.0 are 36-38 ft lbs .
