Hey guys/girls

So i'm getting my 6bolt block build in maybe 2-3 weeks. So i was wondering which head to go with my 6bolt shortblock.

Here is my 6bolt shortblock spec.
Ross forged piston bore over .020
91 rod
APR Rod bolts
new oil pan
new gasket
with all the following oem mitsu rebuild parts

At the moment my money fund is short so i will be doing little bolt on mods, like intake, RNR exhaust, FMIC, fuel pump upgrade & rewired. I'm still deciding which turbo i'm going to go with but the choise are T28 or EVO III turbo with EVO III manifold.

So here is my main goal. I want to build my motor up so i could run high 11s and low 12s with all the supporting mods in the future. I did a search on it and i been reading that "2g head will spool up the turbo lot faster because 2g head will outflow a 1g head." but i also read "that 1g head is great for drag but poor for street as the 2g head aint all that great for drag but is best bet for the street use"

Tell you the truth this will be my setup for a while until i get more fund to upgrade parts so i could hit low 11s. But until than which head will be the best for me?

Thank you in advance.

As far as I understand it, the 1g heads flow quite a bit better than the 2g ones do. I beleive you would also have to use a 1g intake manifold to match up with a 1g head. As far as I understand, the 1g head flows better, the 1g intake manifold flows better, the TB is bigger and flows better, and the cams from the 1gs have a higher lift.

As you were saying about the 2g intake manifold and head giving better streetability over the 1g, the only reason for that is that the ports are smaller and give better low end torque but suffer up top because of restriction. Where as the higher flowing 1g intake manifold and head will make you lose some low end torque but will have nice gains up top. The same properties apply to Exhaust Manifolds.

I recommend this article to anyone, so much stuff about airflow and exhaust that I never knew about. http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Miscellaneous/exhausttheory.htm

Thank you both of you for the article. I just gotta read most of it article but since i have to go back to work soon so ill read about it later at night when i come home. Right now my choice is buy 1g head that is in good condition and just putting on my new 6bolt block but my other choice is if my 2g head is still good i mite just port it and drill a hole size bigger to fit it. Still doing some research so if anybody could help me out please do so

Thank you
