Does anyone have experience with putting a 6bolt in a 2g automatic? I am looking at getting the IPT/Kiggly transmission bolt up plate, but am not sure how well it will work, or what other modifications I will need to do. Does anyone have input for this? Thanks.

You'll need to get the kit from IPT, then its pretty straight forward from there. Only thing youll need to do is open up the ears on the flexplate a lil more to make the holes align properly with the convertor. The only painful part is probably paying for the kit, besides that its pretty straight forward like your typical 6bolt swap would be:thumb:

p.s. email me if you need any advice

Okay thanks

Also this car is going to be a daily driver and i'm throwing a BW S259 on it. Now my question is would it be a good idea to go with a high stall torque converter for this turbo and daily driving?

im gonna ask in this thread also
I have my 7 bolt already out and my 6 bolt in an engine stand.
I know i need the flexplate adapter for this know im going to get a shift kit also and was wondering if my stock tranny is gonna handle 400+ hp ???
should i get the high stall torque converter or not, i dont really care about launching with 20 psi my car is a fwd and is gonna be making 400 whp
So in a few works my question is this

Stock tranny and torque converter with shift kit + 6 bolt making 400+ whp will this work ???

automatics dont usually crankwalk, just wondering why you chose to do a 6 bolt.

my old seven bolt one of the bearings went bad and the rod ate part of the crank and i just didn't wanna use that engine any more was looking around for something for over a month and came across a built 6 bolt.
and now its sitting here waiting

i know its really nice there is nothing else a can really put to the long block it has everything
but back to my question
Can a auto tranny of a 97 handle 400+ whp ??? stock torque converter and a shift kit

I too would like to know thê answer to this question . I drive a 7G Galant and recently found a six bolt I have a small 16g but the final product will be otherwise stock

I have heard tell of a 6bolt 3hole flex plate and am desperately trying to locate one .

Please let me know in a pm if anyone has one lying around from doing the manual swap
