Random Misfire in my 2g w/ 6bolt swap! HELP ###!

Ok I searched around for some answers but I couldnt find anything clear. I have a 97 with a 92 swap in it. I have the 1g CAS also. Heres my problem. I get the same random misfires everyone else gets, however i DO NOT have DSMLink. I only have S-AFC. I was thinking about trying the pentiometer fix before i went out and got DSMLink (really cant afford right now). Im sure I can get a pent at radio shack and have it hooked up today. But I read that some people are saying that the pent fix leads to engine failure. what should i do? I have been driving the car very easy for the past day or two to avoid getting the misfires which has been ok, but i want to get this problem solved until i cna afford the DSMLink. Ive heard some people say switch to a 97-99 CAS, but how would that work with the 1g swap? Im really unsure what to do and i need some ideas. Can anyone please help me out here?? I have 4 buddies of mine that had the same problem with a 6 bolt swap into a 2G and they switched CAS. They are using the blacktop 93-94 CAS and have never had a problem since. I dont know if it works in every instance, but here, we are 4 for 4.
