Before I get started, I have had a complete 6bolt swapped in my 2G, so take this into consideration.

I recently received my rebuilt TB from Steve over at throttlebodys.com and installed it today with new gaskets only to be faced with idle issues after firing the car up. I was receiving the P0100 code but I fixed it by pressing on the MAS adapter connection which somehow brought up the idle really high to about 2k steady.

At this point I had already fixed the TB to IM gasket which I had put in wrong, and routed the vacuum lines to what I THINK is correct (I was running my 2G TB while I had the 1G 1992 TB out for a rebuild). For the lines, I simply matched the P, E, and A ports to the same ports on the 1G (with A2 capped off). The idle right now is the only problem, I adjusted the TPS according to plymouthlaser.com but all it ended up doing was raising the idle to 3k solid (reads 900ohms closed and around 4.6k-ohms fully open). I checked the BISS O-ring and it is fine, the BISS is screwed almost all the way in and only brings the idle down to about 2.6k. ISC is brand new, I actually ran it for about two weeks on the 2G TB perfectly fine. Also the TB cable has plenty of slack, I adjusted it so that it doesn't open the valve at all.

Anyone have any ideas as to why the idle is so high? Can anyone verify the vacuum port routing? It's currently routed like the first diagram on here (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...-speed-shop-vacuum-diagram-removal-1g-2g.html). But I don't recall re-routing anything when switching to the 2G TB so I don't think that would be the case.

**EDIT**I just recalled also that when I removed my TB, I did unmount the cruise control box and sort of pulled on the cables to clear the UIP as I rotated it out of the way. Is it possible for one of the cables to bind open or anything like that? As of now there are no CELs and the RPMs don't stumble at all when I press on the throttle (after adjusting the TPS it reads 5% on my logger) so perhaps it's something mechanical.

Did you check the grounds to see if those are set? IIRC There is one that goes on the intake manifold. I know when I accidentally forgot to hook that back up after my TB swap my car idled high.

Just as an update on this issue that bugged me for the longest time, it appears that the throttle cable tightens up as the engine gets warm. This explains why the high idle only occurred after the car warmed up. I simple put some slack in the cable and it worked. I still occasionally get the high idle, but all I would have to do is put a bit more slack in the cable.

Many people have reported high idle issues with the same symptoms, with no other options. If this is the case for you as well then give this a try. It takes all of a few minutes and might just solve your idle problem.
