6bolt engine to 7bolt tranny

I purchased a six bolt engine,but I have a seven bolt awd tranny. Is there any reason why the two would not work together? Meaning is there some kind of modification needed that I am currently not aware of?

Transmissions are not referred to as 6 bolt or 7 bolt. They are 1g or 2g. Yes, you can put a 6 bolt engine in your car.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks for your input, and yes, both trannys are 1g.

Depends on if you are auto or not really. I am assuming not though, right?

my 97 tranny bolted right up to my 1g block

Yes 2g 5speeds work for any year DSM.. 1g trannys will not work with the 2g. The mounts are different but mitsu made revisions to put the 2g tranny in the 1g by removing the 2g plate
