does anyone know what type of fitting i need to connect a 6an fitting to the inlet side of the stock fuel filter,this way i can turn it into a 6an and connect a hi flo 6an filter,in place of the stock filter, and then a ss 6an hose to the rail,i already have the 2g adapter to the inlet and outlet to the stock fuel rail,

if you have a link or part number would be good
im looking to replace everything from the connector from the inlet side of the stock filter not the top where the banjo fitting is,i know i need a 6an to 12mm fitting if i was changing from the outlet,ive searched but cant the inlet size i need ,tnxx
 
You're in luck, I just did this on my 1G. You need a -6AN either male or hose end to 14mm x 1.50 FEMALE adapter. I spoke to rob at Extreme and they have it or you can check out summit. http://store.summitracing.com/defau...sults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp&x=45&y=9 I didn't get it from summit because the picture looks like a male thread but the description said female, I think Earl's uses one picture for all but I would call them first to make sure.
 
All you need is a regular fuel filter.... any will do as long as it isn't small enough to get blocked really easily.

That's why I went 3/8'' flared SAE from the fuel tank to the engine compartment, then SAE to AN after the fuel filter....

Earl's in-line filter only costs about $35. On a side note, wanna take my brand new OEM filter off my hand now that I don't need it anymore? :)

For a DSM, yes; rediculous. But for an aftermarket, inline fuel filter for a high HP car, $50 is cheap. Most of the fuel filters I sell my customers are in the $80-$120 and they require two; a coarse and a fine micron. Then again, the filters I sell are billet aluminum, w/ replaceable elements and are capable of flowing 2000 lb/hr at less than .5 PSI pressure drop. Def. not something we would need to run on our DSM's.

I ended up with the Paxton 10-micron filter. Aeromotive makes a similar one as well, and I'd recommend either one. Most "good" filters (ie. 10-micron) have -10AN inlet/outlet ports, however, so you'd end up with a couple of reducing fittings on your setup; not a big deal, but something to keep in mind.

If the Earl's filter you ended up with is this one (ie. the -6AN sintered bronze 85-micron filter), I'd be concerned, especially if you're getting your gas from the local station. It's amazing the amount of sediment that can end up in those in-ground tanks, and it'd be a nasty surprise to go lean on one cylinder halfway down the track because of a bad batch of gas and a bunch of crud gumming up an injector.
