Hey guys, I have a couple of questions on these. I read an article a few days ago (but for the life of me cannot find it), I am looking to install my A1000 FPR, and have so far bought about 2 feet of the SS Braided line from Extremepsi.com as well as the fuel rail -6AN fitting (EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts, but only one of them :( ) Now I saw on this thread that I cannot find, that I also need a bunch of -6AN fittings for connecting the hose line to the AFPR, and then to the fuel rail. Does anyone have a complete listing of what they used? Also, my line came with no fittings at all, so i'm not even sure what type of fittings I need to add the -6AN screw fittings to the lines I just bought. Trust me, I know how confusing this thread sounds (ive had to re-type it several times for it to make sense to me LOL) but if anyone could give me a heads up on which ones to order, I'd be sincerely grateful (as im sick of having this thing sit around in my garage when I can be using it) as there are only about 140 different types of metric/AN and AN/AN fittings for our cars LOL. Thanks guys!

wooo, good luck with the assembly, its a bit tricky for anyone, but you seem extra confused. Maybe should have just gone with pushloc :) Anyhow, assuming you are going with the standard AFPR firewall mount, youll need the following:

(1) 90 degree -6an swivel hose fitting (hose fitting coming off the fuel rail, need to use a 90, its a tight fit over by the camgears)
(1) 30 degree -6an swivel hose fitting (hose fitting going into the AFPR, you can just use a straight hose fitting instead of the 30 degree, i feel like 30 degree works better though)
(1) -6an to -6an oring union fitting (for AFPR side port, connection to fuel rail via 30 degree swivel hose fitting)
(1) -6an plug with o-ring (for AFPR side port, unused)
(1) -6an to 5/16 hose barb (assuming you are using your stock fuel return, adapts to fuel return on bottom of AFPR)

Lastly, you will need a 1/8 npt gauge to screw in the front of the AFPR, or just use the supplied 1/8 npt plug. Good luck with that hose assembly man, LOL.

Thank you so much for that LOL. I was struggling with trying to understand how many lines and all that go with it. I looked through the fittings list on extremepsi's website and just got more confused LOL. This gives me a better idea of what and how it goes, so thanks a ton irish!

Just to make sure I understand LOL..

LOL, and you were doing so well, not sure what that last fitting is, haha. you are going to want one of these:

STM - AEROMOTIVE -6AN TO 5/16 BARB FITTING | 15635

This comes out the bottom -6an port of the AFPR and replaces the nipple that comes out of the stock FPR (stock rubber fuel return line connects to this). The damn fitting costs about 25$ shipped though. Actually, PM me if you want something cheaper, ive got a fuel return fitting you could have for basically nothing, instead :thumb: lmk if you have any other questions.

Pick this up while you are at it, you will need a gauge to make it simpler on yourself to dial in the pressure and monitor pressure:

so... after over-coming my dumbass'ness... i came across this... https://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=18050&cat=1559

which i just may buy to make this shit easier on myself LOL
I wouldn't recommend doing that, that kit is a ripoff IMO. Line can be pieced together for half that price. Only way I would buy that kit is if it came assembled, which it doesn't. By my math, you can buy all the components for a good 25$-30$ less, and thats convenience shopping at extremepsi. You are buying the exact same parts LOL, only you are paying a premium because it is a kit.

Ah ok then. wouldn't I need a special wrench to get the fittings onto the end of the lines?

Not to mention that the one piece costs nearly $25, and the other fittings cost roughly 30-40$ ontop of that, its about the same price LOL. I could always go up there and return the SS line I bought (cost about $20) and my old SS turbo oil feed line kit I bought from them and probably pick it up for a ton less.

An fittings like aluminum wrenches, thats because most fittings are aluminum. They will get marked up and scuffed if a harder metal is used carelessly.

Also you get what you pay for as far as fittings/hoes ends goes

I ended up returning some old parts I had laying around that I couldnt use (also from extreme) and ended up picking it up for next to nothing. Much, much easier than trying to order the parts, waiting for them, then fidgeting until I got them to fit correctly, and then install. I'll post pics of my install in 99gst's thread in a little bit once I have it figured out (and make a bracket) Thanks for the help guys!

I forgot that they are right in your backyard. It would be like Christmas every day to have a place like that here in Tucson. Hell we don't even have a Mitsubishi dealership OR a halfway descent import parts place. I do about 95% of my parts buying via mail order.

LOL dude i know what you mean.. i even told them today I hate going in there because i ALWAYS spend money.. LOL

Hey what is this? My Boost gauge is tapped into the line on the top of the screen, and the bottom line was plugged into my stock FPR. Is this the vac line that goes into the top vac port on the AFPR?
Thanks!

Yeah id just go ahead and eliminate the fuel pressure solenoid, though. Just one more spot where you can have a vacuum leak or something going wrong with the solenoid. Our cars only use it when car is already warmed up and gets started again. If you decide to bypass it, you can run the line from your intake straight to the AFPR. Leave it plugged in so it wont throw a code. You'll probably never even notice you had one in the first place.

thats kinda what i figured it was, any idea why the previous owner decided to run the boost gauge T'd off of this line? LOL

24 bux..That would save me 6 dollars..Too bad the kit is for 2g.

Maybe I'll just go with the feed line and fitting this time.

In all honesty, I had it hooked up and installed in under 2 hours. Using the fuel pressure solenoid bracket located on the firewall. So that solved my mounting issue :D
