So I posted a thread a few weeks ago about my 60 trim install and dyno time. I am still questioning "compressor surge" ### I have tried a few things to see if I can get the car to stop bucking when it is coming into boost. A good friend of mine told me to tighten the wastgate rod, so I did. I tightend the BOV, Performed a boost leak test, re-gaped the plugs to .015. I am wondering if it has something to do with whatever controls the injectors. Maybe with voltage or a lack of. As you can see in the log the duty cycle starts going crazy as the turbo starts to spool and the car bucks like crazy. I anyone as experinced this please holla at me. Im sick of not what is going on!

Here is log of the trip into work this morning, leme know what you think.

Thanks Eddie.

No log in your post.

Have you tried gapping the plugs tighter?

My buddy's 2G TSi powered by a Frank 5 20G (20G with 60-trim Garrett compressor) was going the same thing until we gapped the plugs tighter. Even .028" wasn't tight enough to keep the plugs lit as the turbo was building boost running around 22psi....we needed .022"-.023" plug gap to make the problem go away.

He said he had them gapped at .015". I dont think he could go any tighter:p
i would recommend trying a gap around .022-23" like Justin said. I've never heard of people going lower than .020"

Yeah I saw that, but I've never heard of anyone going that tight so I thought it was a typo as I, too, haven't heard of a street car going under .020".

It probably is a typo and he meant .025"
.015" would bend the #### out of the top

Sorry its been a few days. Its not a typo, the plugs are gapped to .015. I even had problems at .020 with bleed/blow out. I could not post the log ### it was to big so ill post a log when I get a chance. My son has been sick as hell so the car is on the back burner.
Thanks for the help guys!!:thumb:
