60 Trim Question

I was just curious as to what the spool time on a 60 trim turbo would be on average. I'm trying to decide between a 60 trim, and a 57. I know the 57 should see full boost by around 4k, so I'm assuiming the 60 would be a little after that. If anybody has first hand experience that would be great. Thanks in advance.

With my 60 trim I am fully spooled at about 37-3800 but I guess you can attribute some of that to other mods.

That's not too bad at all. The turbo is going to be going of a fully built motor and head, so if I'm lucky I'll see close to the same. Thanks!

When you say full boost do you mean 15psi or 25 psi.
I could say I reach full boost at 3500rpms if I only run 15psi.
Thats the problem with people quoting their spool up rpms is they never say how much boost they are hitting at that rpm.

I am looking at running somewhere around 20 psi on the street. I know that this boost level wouldn't be really in the sweet spot of either of these turbos, but I typically do not drive the car very hard on the streets.

Then why get somthing so big hahaha. Seems like you could be happy with a 50 trim

Well a 50 trim is still an option as well. I had a 50 on my previous DSM and was very pleased with it. I'm really trying to just get some general info from people with first hand experience with either of these turbos to compare it to what reasearch I've done on the 50 trim. I have found much, much more info on the 50's than the 57, or 60 trims. Oh, and to answer your question about why I want to get such a big turbo, I am looking to put down some pretty nice hp numbers, 400+ range, and be able to pull some pretty good times at the track.

Just out of curiosity, what are your supporting mods? Also, how well are the street manners of a 60 trim? Sorry for all the questions, there's just so many more options out there now than when I had my last DSM. My previous turbo was a DSM Performance Mutt 3. Does anybody know what happened to that company? I can't seem to find them anywhere anymore.
