hello, my buddy is doing a 6 bolt swap and unfortunately i got drug into it.
the swap went well i suppose, but the car will not turn over. we pulled the motor out of a 90 gsx and put it into a 95 gst.

we got the mechanical parts down.
timing is correct
getting spark and fuel

he did reseach and found how to change the wiring in the cas

i respliced all that changed the plug wires and changed the injector wires at the ecu to the correct places since what i did wiring wise made it work backwards.
CAS is is set in the middle then we planned on tuning it once the car is running
so as far as we know the wiring is all correct.

Followed diagram: RRE Instructions
Version 2.

i dont have a compresson tester but when we cranked it over a small bit to get to tds there seemed to be alottttt of compresson if that has to do with the problem.
also theyre is a mad backfire going through the intake manifold.

when it cranks it sounds like it wants to turn over but it just cranks and cranks.

ignition timing off or idk whats up but any help would be appricated!

I did this to my 96 before I had dsmlink and I had to reverse the firing order. My car would not start if I followed the regular firing order. Once I reversed it I drove it for a year without link like that. Not one problem. When I ordered link theres an option to invert the cam signal and it allowed me to go back to the normal firing order. Thats the snag I ran into doing the same thing your doing.

I did everything with the firing order. Re ran everything like the diagrams on the computer. Im gunna mess around with the firing order i guess but it all should be correct. Anyone else know of any reasons that could be wrong? And thanks for your posts guys!

Alright the fuel rail wasnt completly tightened down. So now the backfire left the intake manifold and is backfiring through the injectors. Depending on how long you crank it over the flame just gets bigger and bigger. ... im stumped
