Hey guys,
I have a 99 Eclipse GS 5spd, and I've come to the point where i want to do engine modifications now, because in the past I really only worked on Audio/electronics on my car. I've researched this somewhat but am still pretty new to it, so please bear with me. Is it possible to do a 6 bolt swap into a N/A 2g DSM? And, what is a ballpark of what i'd be looking to spend?
Or, should i get a turbo kit instead from Hahn or the other ones available, and after everything, how much would i be looking to spend (again, just a ballpark)

Thanks for input guys

If I were in your position I would get the turbo first. Because if I were in your position and wanted the 6 bolt (since the engine is already out), I would also do other things like 2g pistons, cut the crank, balance shaft removal, etc. and that is gonna all cost $$$$. If you do have the money to do all that, then I would say do the swap. But just get everything done while the engine is out and it will save you time and money in the long run.

(My 2 cents) Hope that helps. :thumb:

Nope not really since you are spreading misinformation... So thus I will break it to you the hard way... You can only get a turbo swap unless you want to sell your car and buy a turboed eclipse which seems better and cost you about the same ammount of money as getting the turbo kit for a 420a engine that you have. Being that you have a 420a because you have a N/A 2G the motor mounts are different and something about engine position and transmissions and such...

So its easier for you to sell your car and buy a GST or GSX. If you decide against this you can always buy a turbo kit from several vendors including hanh and star. So the world is your oyster so let us know what you do.

get a turbo kit or build your stock engine.4g63 wont fit unless your one hell of a welder with lots of money and even more time.

Which turbo kits would you guys reccomend?
And these kits, are they really 'complete'?, or do i need more things? (Such as fuel management n such)
Thanks

If I were you I would read more about people who turbo charged 420a's and there 1/4 times, and everything they did, then read about turbo dsms then deside if you wanna turbo your car.
If you want a quick car sell yours and find a dsm thats in good shape (gsx, tsi, gst). I have read many threads on turbo charged 420as and for the money you spend you could have had a turbo charged car that is a lil fasters stock. Its your choice but before you go out and buy a whole turbo kit and everything just read about 420as and then about turbo dsms and deside.

Oh my bad dude. I completely overlooked the fact that he was N/A. Since its NA then your right. But I think my advice would have been sound if it was turbo'd like I originally thought. Ill delete my previous post as to not spread any more mis-information.
