I have a 95 tsi awd with the 7 bolt motor. No cw yet. I've been thinking about doing the 2g head on the 1g block. I can get a 90 6 bolt non turbo short block for $200. Should I wait and get a 6 bolt turbo block? Thanks

The 2g head doesn't flow half as well as a 1g and the only difference between the turbo and non turbo blocks is that the turbo block has oil squirter to cool the pistons. (And the internals are weaker on the non turbo but I trust you wouldn't use those anyways)

Actually, don't do any of that, crankwalk isn't going to happen unless you mess up. even if you can just have a mechanic replace the bearings.

Actually, the 2G head flows "better" for lower HP dsms, higher velocity equals better torque, the difference in intake ports only favors the 1G in High horsepower applications, this is why mitsubishi abandoned the huge 1G ports in 95 and haven't gone back since then. and I see lots of High HP evos.

1G non-turbo blocks have all the strength of the turbo blocks, rods, and crank. The difference is the non-turbo pistons and no oil squirters. The piston is likely to fail if you use a non turbo block in your turbo car.

I only using the 2g head because it has new hks cams in it.
Cams and cam springs can be swapped, but don't, keep the 2g head, its better unless you are going over 400hp

There's nothing wrong with the motor now. The car has been sitting for a couple of years and I'm going to swap it from a auto to manual. While I'm in there I fiqured I'd do the six bolt swap. I have to many projects and I have to get this one up n running to make some cash.

Btw its a awd

I have to disagree with you there, unless he's just going to use the stock pistons, which I assume he wouldn't anyways. If he has forged pistons the oil squirters aren't necessary. Nice to have but not necessary.
