wellive been looking for a 6 bolt motor and cant find anything but today i cameacross a n/t 6 botl and i was wondering what all do i have to change to boost it? note i am swapng it with a 7 bolt gst turbo engian. thanks for the help

Pretty much you would just need to pull it apart, clean and hone the block, clean the crank and rods, have a set of turbo pistons installed on the rods than reassemble with new gaskets, bearings and rings.

my thoughts exactly! the non turbo pistons will work with a turbo if ya retard the cam sensor a little extra. na pistons make more power with less boost and would be a little more fuel efficient but they will not hold up to as much power as the turbo pistons. i have seen them used with 22psi on a 20g though. there is actually a thread on here about it... not to change the subject but who can tell me why some 7 bolt blocks have piston squirters and some do not? i was under the impression that all the 7 bolt blocks were 2g and that meant they all used the same turbo setup from the factory. anybody care to correct me on this?

7 bolt engines started in mid 92. All turbo 7 bolt engines have oil squirters. 1g 7 bolt non turbo engines do not have oil squirters.

No. Neon used an A588 4 cyl or an ECC 4 cyl. All were 2 liter engines, but not the same family of engines.

Edit: ECC engines are the family the 420a comes from, but with the intake runners facing the rear if the vehicle. Chrysler 1.8, 2.0 & 2.4 engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

neon and breeze and stratus 2.0 sohc all use the exact bottom ends at the 2.0 na dohc eclipse talon avenger and sebring. pistons all are interchangeable even though the eclipse has a dome style piston and the neon has a flat top on the ecc and a slight dish on the a588. pistons are also interchangeable with the 2.4 edz but rods are not. sohc neon breeze and stratus engines use the same crank, block , crank sensor (02 and older), oil sender, oil pump, bearings, piston rings, rear and ront seals, flywheels, waterpumps, and timing tensioners and even head gaskets and head bolts. the head and some of the outter dressing like crank pulley, oil pan and water pipes are different.

I hope this info helps to clarify things.:applause:
