6 bolt swap no spark in cylinder 4 and 1

Hey guys, we are doing a 6 bolt swap on a 98 spyder gst

we just installed a 7 bolt coil pack on a 6 bolt motor and we are ONLY getting spark on cylinders 2 and 3..

nothing on 4 and 1 ... the coil pack is good because we tried another one and still same issue...

just some info:
97-99 engine harness
currently have 1g to 2g 95-96 cas adapter
bought it by mistake and will buy the 97-99 asap

could this be the reason why?

anyone have this issue when doing a 6 bolt swap?

its most likely your ignition coil pack, or power transistor. Make sure it plugged in a didnt come loose.

being that i have a 2g engine harness and 6 bolt motor could i use the 95-96 1g to 2g cas adapter and leave one pigtail not plugged or do i have to buy the 97-99 adapter?

usually when your have either 1-4 not firing or 2-3 it leans more towards the coil pack. Seeing that 1-4 are together and 2-3 are together. So usually when you have a situation where your not getting spark on cylinder 1-4 or 2-3 its most likely your coil pack

that transister has 2 diff transisters and its possible 1 went bad internally causing the coil not to fire.

Nope. A 2g coil pack works fine..ive done a few swaps and only used 2gs. I would lean toward the issue being the wrong harness adapter. I believe the 97-99 has the wires in a different order.

If you have a 97-99 harness then you should look into CAS conversion harness for applicable years. But still check your coil pack. And as previously stated, a 2g coil pack works fine, a lot of guys run that instead of a 1g coil pack due to simplicity of install, no adverse effects of course.

like i said im running the 95-96 adapter and i dont know if thats a cause of the problem.. i will also try swapping for a new cas because i did buy a used one... shhhhhh :/

Im sure this is your answer. Your stock 2g CAS is where the 1g would sit. Find the harness and fix it! That should be your problem. If not then it will be indeed your coil for 1,4.

Im still wagering my money that its the adapter harness. Its not the pack.
