I was wondering, on my 98 gst 6 bolt swapped, Can i use the 1g coil packs, and maybe wire something???

Any good ideas to mount the 2nd gen coil packs somewhere?

Can i put the 2nd gen coil packs where the 1st gen ones are?

I used the mounting bracket from a 1g coil pack and attached it to my 2g coil pack. Then it bolted on the intake manny just like it does on 1g's.

the 91-94 coil and the 2G coil is the same... the bracket is the different part. I used a 1G because I had a good one around but you can switch it over to the 1G bracket since tucked away like the 1G has it is a lot neater then just sitting out.

for the work that is involved, unless the 2G head is garbage, I would drill the head bolt holes out and REuse the 2g head.

I have done it each way so I understand where everyone would be coming from.

I like the fact that BY using the 2g head on the 6 bolt block, all the wiring harness connectors will still be in the same place, and no major hacking/stretching would be required.

I also like that the 2G Head/intake combo still allows the use of the MDPS.

Port the inlet of the intake out to 60mm, and use a 91-94 1G Throttle Body, with the
2G/aftermarket TB elbow.

It can be done a number of ways. Hope everything works out.

Or you can just relocate it on a 1g head/intake combo, but I see where you are coming from.

I am running a 1g coil pack that fits in the OEM 1g spot. As posted above, the newer 1gs had the same coil as the 2gs. Just make sure that it has the triangular plug and you don't have to modify anything.

actaully all the coil's are the same.. kinda what i do is just remove the harness from the
2g pack and slap it on the 1g pack, so far i havnt had an issue useing 90-94 pack's especially 90's, the only diffrence is how the coil heat sync parts are setup cause's some issue when mounthing but be creative and itll all work out.
