I am just about to wrap up the swap and had a few final questions before firing it up.The balence shaft belt is eliminated, i put the balence shaft sproket (the one behind the timing sproket) back on because i figured the spacing would be off if it wasent there. My question is should I have put the metal plate back on in between them as well? Or should I only have used the timing belt sproket and gotten rid of both the balence shaft sproket and the plate? The reason why I left the plate off is because it I have a 2g one and it hits on the block.Oh and for what its worth, I used the timing cover to make sure everything was aligned to tdc.
Sorry if Im confusing anyone, I just want to make sure I do this right.

what?Im sorry, I dont understand what you are trying to say.I realize the plate has a mark on it, but I have a 2g one and it hits on the block. So I used the marks on the cover to line up tdc.I was more concerned with spacing issues.

Are you putting the timing plate between the balance shaft sprocket and the crank sprocket? I don't recommend setting up your timing with the timing belt cover at all. It can give you a vague idea of TDC, but to be exact you need the timing plate to be installed. I am using a 1g plate on mine, I never tried using the 2g one.
