When doing a 6 bolt swap using a later year 2g head, is there any reason you need a 1g CAS over the non adjustable CAS on the 2g head from the factory?

yeah, i have the 6 bolt swap done on my car. Don't even think about trying that, the swap is hassle enough. O and i would invest in dsmlink unless you plan on pulling over every 30mins because of the misfire that is associated with the swap.

Like said above you really can really utilize the adjustable CAS over the pos 2gb sensor.

When doing the swap either buy the RRE CAS harness or make your own following the Magnus diagram.

I'll PM you a great place for 6 bolt info.

I don't want any conflict of intrest but I found this site pretty helpfull.

I didn't get a DSMLink until almost 10 months after my first 6 bolt swap. I put over 20K miles on my car during that time frame. I just drove around with my TPS disconnected. Sucks for fine tuning on an AFC though since you don't have any input for your Hi/Lo settings.

I would never go as far as to say that. I've only gotten it when first starting it. Start out with a logger.

After about a few minutes, it went away. Never saw it again.

Not everyone gets it.

Oh and I never touched the TPS.

There seems to be a failure to understand the question. 97+ cars have a factory cam angle sensor. I don't care about adjustability. I want to know if it uses a hall effect style output or something useful for replacing the crank angle sensor signal. I don't see why a 1g sensor would be better, adjustability aside.

You're pretty lucky then. I do realize that not everyone gets it, but odds are more likely that he will. I know I had it, but then again, pretty much everything that could go wrong with my car has.

Listen closely:

1995-1999 cars all have both cam and crank sensors. 95-96s are hidden inside the timing cover. 97-99s are on the passenger side of the head. 1G cars only have a cam position sensor the reads 4 times per rovolution versus the 2g cam sensor that read 2x/revolution and a crank sensor that reads 2x/revolution. IF YOU USE A 97-99 CAM SENSOR ON A 6 BOLT SWAP, YOUR CAR WILL NOT START. Reason being is that you need both cam and crank position input that the 1g cam sensor provides. I did not fail to understand your question. You failed yo understand my answer.
