6 bolt question?

OK I did my searches and read the 6 bolt vs 7 bolt merger. But I have to ask anyway. The guy I purchased my car from said he blew the 7 bolt and got a 6bolt block and even had paperwork, but the oil pan test shows that its still a 7 bolt? is there any way this could be wrong? Some other test? Another weird issue is the a/c compressor is digging into the control arm under acceleration. I have replaced motor mounts and the trans mount and nothing has helped that issue.

The one sure fire way to test is to just drops the trans.. o_o Might as well check your clutch assembly while you're in there.
