So i am buying a 6 bolt 2.3 stroker, 1g head too. I was reading on vfaq and it said something about the 2g starter mounting bracket. Now the guy who i am buying it from said i can use his 1g starter. Do i need anything from my 2g? My starter blew apart when the engine went... Do i jus need the 2g bracket???

thanks

Your starter bolts right up to your transmission housing, I think what he is referring to is the plate that goes between the transmission and the block...You use the 2g one.

If you are getting a new starter, make sure it is for an AWD as the FWD ones won't work on an AWD flywheel.

I was under the impression that the starters were the same and the flywheels were different.

I put an AWD flywheel in my FWD a little while back. Not a good day...

I am pretty sure that is true as well. I swapped a starter from my 1992 Eclipse GSX to a 1995 Eclipse GST without any issue. I believe that the differently sized flywheels are the problem.
