6 bolt nt engine in tsi

Ok guys, Im having some trouble with my car. Ive installed a 6 bolt nt engine in my tsi awd. the issue im having is it seems to be building boost but not going any where. It idles and revs perfectly in neutral but under a load it acts up. its all stock turbo setup other than an fmic, any info is appreciated, thanks Randy

Start by looking for boost leaks.

Maybe that 9:1 cr is causing knock? Just a thought...

I'm going to leak test it tonight. I've thought the same thing about the knock. However I swapped my buddies gst years ago the sane way he hasn't had one issue..I'm thoroughly stumped on this

Well if you did not install the turbo pistons, chances are you will be pulling it back out soon.

Check your timing belt, being off can cause issues you discribe.

As long as I keep the boost down it'll last. Mechanical timing is perfect . Need to do ignition timing .

Just an update. The ignition timing was 15 degrees advanced. Put it to 5 degrees btdc and runs amazing
