6 bolt into a 420A car.

is this possible to put a 6 bolt into a 420A car? Just wondering b/c the tranny on the 420 is on the opposite of the 4g63. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I know the swap would be hard and I have a fair amount of knowledge of the cars, I have a 1g that I've pulled the motor and trans, had it built, installed it and blah blah so I know I could do the swap I was just wondering if it's possible and everything I'll need. thanks guys

Yes, ANYTHING is possible!... Advisable, NO! Expensive! Why would you do it? If your familiar with these cars you should notice that since the engines are mirrors of each other a "drop in" is not possible. It is expensive and if you did a quick search you would find a number of threads on this topic.

With a build bottom end the 420a can handle it's share of boost very well. Do some research, and good luck!

No. No. And no. No one has successfully done this. It's not worth it. You may have swapped trannys and motors, but I've done that too, and believe me, this is MUCH diffrent. Unless you are a master fabricator who can creat MANY things with ALOT of extra money and time,it's not worth it.

Do some searching and you'll learn for yourself. If the tranny is complete opposite then you should KNOW it's NOT a drop in and go type deal.

+1, Infact there is a guy watiing to have one done at this shop I frequent a lot, the shop can do it, but they told him he'd be on back burner for other projects and told him about the difficulites in doing it vs cost effectivieness. But the kid wants to do it anyways as he's under the impression that at car shows the judges will award him extra points for completing the swap, what he doesn't realize (and I tried explaing to him), is that the anyone who know's eclipses expects the see the 4g63 under there anyways, and would probably just automatically assume its a GST, no special points.
 
thanks guys, I have looked into it and it's really not worth it since I've got a race project I'm waiting to finish. Anyways on ot my next ?... I have the opportunity to trade for a 95 gs-t. It's possible to put a 97-99 style wing on the back and fron end conversion and for the fron end I would need hood, fenders, bumpers, and lights? Anything I'm missing, I really love the look of the 97-99, but I just gotta have the 4g63 under the hood. I don't have the money to build a 420 motor, or buy a turbo kit for it, so I planned on trading this car, doing the body swap and a few minor bolt on's for a quick little daily driver car. I'm stuck in a pickle here guys, what do I do? Perfomance vs. looks? 99' is black on black leather and the 95 is red with grey cloth. You opinions please:confused:

hood & fenders are the same, the headlights are the only thing you will need to change to switch to the 97-99 front bumper

you can put on the turbo wing, but your gonna have to fill some holes and get a third brake light. 2gb turbo body with Black on black is the nicest look wise though

So if you don't have the money how where you going to do the swap???
